Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in College Station, Texas has announced plans to construct a new medical office building. The facility, with a projected cost of $48 million, is set to begin construction on May 1, 2023, and will be completed on October 8, 2024. The 100,000 square-foot building will offer various medical services, including a Sleep Center, Physical Therapy, Phlebotomy Lab, GI, Ophthalmology, Allergy, Rheumatology, Nephrology, Infectious Diseases, Endocrinology, ASC, Administrative Spaces, and shell space for future expansion.
The new building will be located at 600 Scott & White Drive in Brazos County, adjacent to the existing Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – College Station. The medical center currently operates a five-story, 143-bed hospital, and a four-story medical office building, Baylor Scott & White Clinic – College Station Rock Prairie, on a 98-acre campus near the intersection of Texas Highway 6 and Rock Prairie Road.
The addition of this new facility will expand healthcare services available in the Brazos County area, and further strengthen the medical center’s commitment to quality and safety. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – College Station has already been recognized for its outstanding performance, having been designated as high-performing in common procedures and conditions like heart failure, pneumonia, and back surgery on U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals list.
In addition, the medical center is a certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center and a certified Chest Pain Center, as well as a Level III Trauma Center. The facility also has a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) designation equipped with NICVIEW™ video monitors and has achieved the American Nurses Credentialing Center Pathway to Excellence Designation.
The new medical office building will provide residents of Brazos County with a more comprehensive range of healthcare services, including sleep disorder treatment, physical therapy, and allergy treatment, to name a few. The facility will also offer administrative spaces, allowing patients to have all of their healthcare needs met in one location. The new building is a testament to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center’s ongoing commitment to improving healthcare in the community, and its dedication to providing the highest quality medical care to all its patients.
