Author from Bryan-College Station area marks 10 years sober, announces debut transformation book

An author from the Bryan-College Station area is celebrating a major personal milestone — and turning it into a message aimed at helping others through their own healing journeys.

Mandy Fonville recently announced she is celebrating 10 years without alcohol, a decision she says helped her stop “numbing” and begin a decade-long transformation rooted in clarity, emotional healing and purpose.

Fonville also announced she has published her first book, “Own Your Sh!t, Change Your Life: A No-BS Guide to Transformation,” which she said is currently under review and expected to go live on Amazon soon.

In her announcement, Fonville described her sobriety as a turning point that changed the direction of her life.

“Ten years ago, I made a conscious choice to stop numbing and start healing,” she wrote. “I had no idea that decision would lead me here.”

A decade of tools turned into a book

Fonville said the book is 245 pages and pulls together lessons and techniques she has learned and taught over the past decade, including content from her Reinvent Yourself Workshop and her ARCC Path™ Framework.

She described the book as a direct, practical guide aimed at readers who feel stuck or disconnected from themselves — especially those who sense they’re meant for more, but aren’t sure how to begin.

“I wrote this book for the person who feels stuck,” she wrote. “For the one who knows they are meant for more but doesn’t know how to get there.”

Fonville said the book includes topics such as inner child work, forgiveness letters and subconscious reprogramming, along with other exercises she says helped her move from breakdowns to breakthroughs.

“Transformation is possible”

Fonville framed the book as both personal and widely relatable — a message for anyone who feels they’ve been suppressing emotions or distracting themselves from reality, whether through alcohol or other coping mechanisms.

“If you have been using anything to suppress your reality or distract yourself from what you’re really feeling… I see you,” she wrote. “I was you.”

She added that her story is proof that change can happen over time through consistent effort.

“Transformation is possible,” Fonville wrote. “I am living proof.”

Book expected to go live soon

Fonville said “Own Your Sh!t, Change Your Life: A No-BS Guide to Transformation” is expected to become available on Amazon once the listing clears the publishing process.

For Fonville, the book represents not just an author milestone, but the closing of a 10-year chapter — and the beginning of something new.

“This book is my gift to the world,” she wrote.
