A 21-story student housing tower is set to rise in the heart of the Northgate Entertainment District as part of the second phase of a major student living development near Texas A&M University.
VERVE College Station, a 1,193-bed high-rise apartment community at 311 Stasney St., is being developed by St. Louis-based Subtext. The $160 million privately funded project is scheduled to begin construction on Jan. 1, 2026, with completion expected by July 1, 2028.
The development will include approximately 825,000 square feet of new construction, with residential units, structured parking, and shared amenity spaces. It is part of a larger two-phase project totaling 1,738 beds and 568 units.
VERVE College Station is designed to cater to students seeking a more experiential and amenity-rich environment. Planned features include a rooftop sky lounge, indoor/outdoor bar and kitchen, multi-sport simulator, a large pool and spa area with a jumbotron TV, and a range of wellness and fitness spaces.
Subtext, a real estate firm focused on student and multifamily housing across the country, said its approach blends hospitality-focused design with market analysis to deliver communities that align with resident needs. According to the company, the VERVE brand prioritizes access to dining, retail, and social life alongside academic proximity.
The project joins Subtext’s growing portfolio of student living communities in major university markets nationwide.
